Accentuate. A History of Place. Project Management
Lowlight are Project Managing this HLF funded project through Screen South which explores the influence of disabled people on the built environment. Lowlight's work including developing online games for two of the locations in the project - Chiswick House & Maison Dieu. Managing the evaluation process and managing colleagues in Bristol on the History of Place exhibition, oral history and volunteer elements of the project.
Cinegi. Acquisition & Curation
Lowlight's Paul Homer was the Content Acquisition and Curation Manager for Cinegi Arts&Film. Cinegi Arts&Film uses a secure digital distribution platform that works over standard broadband and the public internet to enable public exhibition of screened media in non-cinema venues of all kinds. We are working with the large and smaller arts organisations to secure their content and help them reach new audiences. This project is supported by Arts Council England in partnership with the BFI.
The Palace, Hastings. Curation
An innovative bar in a traditional building, The Palace offers a great range of F&B with daily entertainment through film, DJs, live music and sport. Lowlight programme the film content, serving a wide audience within one venue; music fans, film fans and a family audience. Built around events with added value Lowlight work closely with the venue owners to create a unique experience.
Goldsmiths, University of London. Curation
Providing overview of the cinema operation including programming, technical and financial as well as marketing liaison. Lowlight curate the Gold on Film festival, run events with film talent and manage the relationship with Goldsmith's commercial partner, Curzon Cinemas.
Bill Viola: The Road to St Paul's. Distribution
Over ten years in the making Director Gerry Fox's portrait of world-renowned video artist Bill Viola shows his grappling with his final commission, Mary & The Martyrs at St Paul's Cathedral. Lowlight secured screenings at multiple venues across the UK, many with Q&A events attached. Including a joint event between St Paul's Cathedral where audiences viewed Bill's work, followed by a walk across the Millennium Bridge to watch Gerry's film.
Almost Heaven. Distribution
Winner of BIFA 2017 for Best Docuementary, this intimate film follows Ying Ling as she trains as an undertaker, despite being scared of ghosts, hundreds of miles from her family home. Directed by Carol Salter, Lowlight provided distribution advice, assisted with theatrical bookings and recommended VoD options.
The Ballad of Shirley Collins. Distribution
The film tells the amazing story of Shirley Collins, her life with Alan Lomax, the loss of her voice and the resurrection of her career. Produced by Burning Bridges and directed by Rob Curry and Tim Plester. Lowlight secured distribution with medium sized cinema chains, key independent cinemas across the UK and a range of smaller venues.
Electric Palace, Hastings. Technical Advice & Install
Lowlight worked with this independent venue to upgrade their technical equipment. By installing a multi-input vision mixer, the cinema can now run two blu-ray players, laptops from different positions in the screen and audio all through the same machine. This work stream-lined operations at the venue and enhanced their technical facilities.
